Helens Life
Helen Levitt was born on August 31, 1913, in Brooklyn, New York, and pursued a career in photography, with some of her earliest images showcased by Fortune magazine and the Museum of Modern Art. She was known for her amazing photographs of children and urban street life and also worked as a film director on documentaries like The Quiet One. She was also one of the first photographers to work with color. Helen Levitt died on March 29, 2009, in New York, New York.
